Is your farm yet to complete your GhG emissions assessment, or are you a supplier that wants to retain or gain customers?
If you have a farm over 80 hectares, or a dairy farm with a milk supply number, or a cattle feedlot as defined in the National Environmental Standards for Freshwater, you will need to meet the following requirements:
By December 2022, you will need to know your farm's annual methane and nitrous oxide emissions
By January 2025, you will need to have a written plan in place for measuring and managing those emissions.
The experts at MyImprint have been approved by AgFirst to meet the requirements of He Waka Eke Noa. See our approved tool here: https://hewakaekenoa.nz/tools-and-calculators.
If you are an agricultural contractor or supplier, voluntarily measuring you emissions will greatly improve your tendering position, and help you retain and gain customers. Farmers are now including 'low carbon procurement' in their operations policy's, so start measuring and reducing your emissions now, and be their preferred supplier.
